TC Chandran Gurukkal founded this renowned Kalari Kendram in the year of 1965 in the heart of Calicut city, following the lineage of his legendary father TC Sami Gurukkal, who founded Kairali Kalari Sangham about a century ago in 1929. And this legacy is carried on by TC Dheeraj Gurukkal (s/o TC Chandran Gurukkal) now.

“Our aim is to reduce the pain and cure the ailments by the healing touch of ‘kalari -Marma- Ayurveda Chikitsa’ which is passed on from generations to generations. And to build a healthy, brave and cultured generation who have at least the basic knowledge of our traditional martial art ‘Kalarippayat’ and ‘Yoga’. ‘Body and Mind are so much interrelated that, while performing treatment and kalari training, we tries to maintain a relaxing spiritual environment. Then only we get good results”.

Tc Chandran Gurukkal’s elder son TC Sooraj Gurukkal is running his own treatment center in Calicut and Tellichery. Apart from this TC Chandran Gurukkal’s brother’s and sister’s sons are also running their own treatment centers and kalaris at different parts of Kozhikode district.

We are traditionally practitioners of Kalari Marma Ayurveda treatment also known as’ Kalari Chikitsa’ inherited from our ancestors. Besides this we have good experienced Ayurvedic doctors and a team to provide general Ayurveda treatments like “PANCHAKARMA” Treatment.

Production Of Traditional Kalari-Ayuveda Inherited Medicines

We prepare the medicines for the treatment of our patients with atmost care and quality at our own premises. All oils and drinking medicines for treatment we prepare our selves. We prepare some general Ayurvedic medicines and some rare medicines inherited from our ancestors. Among them one is the famous “VENKOTTA-THAILAM ” (Oil) which is very effective for all sorts of pain.

Martial Art Kalarippayat Training

We train the students in our Kalari which is built in the traditional style ( Kuzhi – Kalari) . We are among those few kalaries who still follows strictly the traditional values and training methods in Kalari. But the treatment method is only taught to the best disciples, whom the Gurukkal feels that has the qualities to become a good healer.

Yoga Classes

Apart from Kalarippayat, we give yoga training also. Yoga improves your strength, balance and flexibility. Yoga relaxes the mind and thus reduces the stress, and gives a rhythm to the life, with positive energy and attitude. We have experienced yoga trainers. And both ladies and gents batches are available.

Osteo Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and all other general arthritic problems arising at various joints, knee pain, Tennis Elbow, Frozen Shoulders, Tendonitis, Spondylosis, Stiff Neck, Lower back pains, Slip disc, Sciatica, Hip problems all are treated here. Our first aim is to reduce the pain, and then tries to cure it completely. We tells the patients in how much approximate time it will be cured, initially itself. Because in some cases it may need repeated treatment next few years also.

All sorts of joint sprains, ligament tears, muscle injuries, tendon injuries, all are treated here. Most of the sprains occurring to joints ankle, Neck, wrist, shoulders, Hip, upper and lower back, thighs, calf, etc. if treated immediately and properly in this method, will be cured easily and perfectly in minimum time. otherwise if not treated properly it may later turn out to several joint problems.
